Started at about 9am on Squaw Peak Road heading south. The weather was ominous and skies immediately unleashed as soon as we unloaded the bikes. Oh well, it's fire roads in the rain.

Noah on his second ever ride, starting out in cold temps in the rain. Great fun as it rained for the first several hours of the ride.
Yes, the lens was wet.


Apparently cattle guards keep more than cattle out. Noah found this out as he approached the cattle guard at a 45 degree angle then immediately spun out and hit the deck. The roads through here were the super slick black mud that was like riding on ice.


The rain continued and we were both quite cold as we headed towards Strawberry. We wanted to ride single track, but it was raining and too slick, so we stayed on the fire roads.


Just before Strawberry it quit raining and started to dry out. Here we found some fun double track and finally got to relax and have some fun at higher speeds.


Heading north along the ATV track towards Strawberry.




72 miles and 1.3 gallons of gas used. Strawberry Marina.


Missed a turn leaving Strawberry but still got to ride some fun single track.


The trail was in great shape.


Back at Trail 013 heading towards Hobble Creek.






Noah's bike didn't like the slow climbing and was over heating about 2/3rd up the climb. We opted to turn around and get more air flowing on the radiator. Noah, soon after the turn around.


We bailed to the gravel that enters the right fork of Hobble Creek. Not as fun, but the views were nice.


Back at the start of Squaw Peak Road, and as luck would have it, perfect timing for the next big thunderstorm approaching.


Sweet, what felt like near hail, cold temps, slick roads.......Noah is psyched.


146 miles of easy riding connecting the dots for future rides in the area. Starting to get this place down here pretty well dialed in.
